The UNODC Regional Office for Central Asia Annual Report 2023

The report highlights the significant milestones achieved and the positive impact made in the region through close collaboration with national counterparts, partner organizations, and various stakeholders. 

Throughout 2023, our unwavering commitment was evident in our support to Member States in Central Asia, striving to advance good governance, justice, health, and security at both national and international levels.

Our collective efforts align with the UN Secretary-General’s vision for enhanced international cooperation to tackle present and future challenges, intensifying actions to accelerate progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. 

We enhanced the capacities of law enforcement agencies, criminal justice officials, healthcare providers, and civil society members, ensuring a more robust foundation for sustainable progress.

We deeply value the active involvement and collaboration of our counterparts, UN agencies, partners, and donors in fostering cooperative initiatives within Central Asian states. Their engagement was instrumental in driving positive change and achieving our shared objectives.

UNODC remains steadfast in its commitment to further advancing its mission within the region, echoing the UNODC Global Strategy’s aspirations for “a healthy, safe, and secure community, free from the threats posed by organized crime and drug use and confident in the integrity of the justice system to provide access to services for all.”
