How the UN is supporting The Sustainable Development Goals in Tajikistan
The UN and its partners in Tajikistan are working towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals: 17 interconnected and ambitious Goals which address the major development challenges faced by people in Tajikistan and around the world.
The UN team in Tajikistan focuses on six strategic areas that respond to country development needs and make use of the UN's comparative advantages: 1) Democratic Governance, Rule of Law, and Human Rights; 2) Sustainable and equitable economic development; 3) Social Development (health, education and social protection); 4) Nutrition and Food Security; 5) Inclusion and Empowerment of Vulnerable Groups; and 6) Resilience and Environmental Sustainability. These were identified through an intensive consultation process with a broad range of government partners as well as other stakeholders and partners in Tajikistan.
