Background:

The Republic of Tajikistan, in response to a request for financial assistance, received a grant from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (World Bank) from the International Development Association for the implementation of the “Modernizing of the National Statistical System Project in Tajikistan” (MNSSP).

The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (World Bank) is the current administrator in the implementation of grant funds provided by various donors under the Multilateral Trust Fund to support statistical capacity.

To ensure the high-quality implementation of the planned activities for the implementation of the project, the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan will hire the following specialist below:

Project Assistant/Translator

Required Qualifications and Experience for a Project Assistant/Translator:

Higher education in the field of foreign languages, management, public administration, economics, education or relevant areas;
Good knowledge of project cycle;
Work experience on projects of international organizations; Work in projects of World Bank is preferred.
Similar work experience: assistance or translator in project coordination and implementation;
Understanding of priorities and key issues of statistical system (for example, institutional and legislative framework), and reform (PRSP, Multi-year Integrated Statistical Plan) in Tajikistan.
Excellent knowledge of Russian, Tajik and English (Written and Oral).
Excellent computer skills.

Work period

The above Project Assistant/Translator will provide their services from July 2025 to November 2026.

The specialist will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” July 2016, revised November 2017, August 2018 and fourth Edition November 2020 (“Procurement Regulations”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.

Interested candidates shall submit (send) their CV in Russian or English, copy of passport, copy of diploma; certificates confirming the education and letters of recommendation, addressed to Mr. Djamshed Nurmahmadzoda - Director of the Agency for Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to the following address, and, if necessary, apply for additional information from 9:00 to 17:00 (local time). The deadline for submission of proposals is July 15, 2025 until 16:00 (Dushanbe time).

Documents submitted after the specified period is not subject to consideration.
