Organization: The Project for Vitalization of Local Business in Central Asia through One Village One Product (OVOP) Movement, Japan International Cooperation Agency – JICA

Working Location: Mainly in OVOP Shop/Office, located in Dushanbe. There are some business trips to rural areas inside Tajikistan, as well as overseas.

Contract Term: From July 2025 to September 2025 (There is possibility to renew the contract on 1st of October 2025.)

The Project for Vitalization of Local Business in Central Asia through One Village One Product Movement, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Tajikistan is seeking one project assistant/shop manager to manage the new OVOP shop/office in Dushanbe and conduct research for the project throughout Tajikistan

Responsibilities:

With Japanese staff, the position will carry out the following duties and responsibilities.

  Shop management

   Preparations for the official opening of the shop and guidance to sales staff after opening

  Project management

   Coordination to search new clients and producers for the project

  Logistics management

 Maintaining of close contact with the OVOP center to manage the store's products

Qualifications:

The successful candidate should have the following.

University degree in relevant fields

Less than 35 years old

Minimum five years of experiences (on a full-time basis) in Tajik governmental organizations or development organizations (bilateral or multilateral)

Fluency in English, Russian, and Tajik in all aspects (writing, speaking, reading, etc)

Ability to write reports clearly, concisely, persuasively, and comprehensively in English, Russian, and Tajik

Deep knowledge and understanding of the structures of Government of Tajikistan and extended experiences to negotiate with the Government

Much working skills such as planning ahead, putting priorities of tasks, strong problem-solving ability, and ability to work independently

Knowledge on and familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.), Internet for office usage

Being able to have business trip to outside Dushanbe with staying several nights

Excellent personal communication skills

Excellent teamwork skills

Being able to start working with us from July 2025

Motivation for bridging between Japan and Tajikistan

Working experiences relating to Public Relations are also preferable.

The Project for Vitalization of Local Business in Central Asia through One Village One Product Movement by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has been commencing and disseminating OVOP activities in Tajikistan since April 2024. JICA experts are being dispatched to Tajikistan from Kyrgyzstan on a business trip basis right now. The Project requires local staff to manage the new OVOP shop/office and conduct research for the Project throughout Tajikistan.
