The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflicts and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance. It directs and coordinates the international relief activities conducted by the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement in situations of conflict. It also endeavours to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles.
The ICRC Mission in Dushanbe is looking for:
Security Guard
based in Dushanbe, 84% occupation rate
PURPOSE
The Security Guard provides and maintains the entire security of the assigned premises and will be responsible for monitoring premises, controlling access, and responding to security incidents.
Basic function of this position:
- Applies the established security rules at all times.
- Welcomes, screens, reports/records and announces all visitors and vehicles arriving at the assigned premises.
- Immediately reports any problem/incident or anything suspicious to his/her hierarchical supervisor.
- Performs regular checks of the premises/compound (including fire extinguishers, windows, doors, lights and piping) to prevent incidents.
- Makes sure that the guard post is not left unattended (i.e. does not leave the post until the guard on the next shift has arrived) and ensures proper handover to the next shift.
Minimum required knowledge and experience:
- Minimum 3 – 5 years professional experience in a similar position within the international organizations.
- Secondary school level or higher
- Participation in the security trainings with certificates
- Consent to work at nights
- Fluent in Tajik, Russian and ability to hold conversation in English is an asset.
