Protection Field Officer
Duty station: in Dushanbe, 100% activity rate
Starting date: March 2025
PURPOSE
The Protection Field Officer contributes to the implementation and monitoring of ICRC protection activities. The Protection Field Officer will collaborate closely with local partners, field staff, and beneficiaries to ensure that all protection-related tasks are completed to a high standard. Additionally, the Protection Field Officer will be responsible for monitoring the outcomes of protection activities to ensure that all objectives are met according to the organization's standards.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Implements protection activities under the supervision of the line manager.
- Contributes to analyses of the security, socioeconomic, cultural and political environment relevant to the ICRC, shares relevant information with team members, and reports any change in the situation.
- Participating in field activities to ensure compliance with program objectives, standards, and policies.
- Media monitoring of news and sharing relevant information with the Protection Team
- Collect data and maintain accurate records on program activities, outputs and sharing it with Data Base staff respecting all deadlines.
- Provide regular updates to Protection Team Leader regarding implementation status, challenges, and successes.
- The Protection Field Officer is required to complete all mandatory courses and participate in any offline/online training assigned by the Protection Department.
- Collects, compiles and interprets protection-related information (with appropriate care for staff risk management).
- Analyses and contributes to written internal reporting and activity programming (as part of institutional exercises).
- Helps to make internal and external meetings meaningful (through preparation, participation, reporting, and follow-up).
- Develops and maintains contact with the municipal/regional authorities, local/regional National Society branches, the local population, suppliers, etc.
- Prepares, participates in, and reports on all aspects of field assignments.
- Fosters a conducive environment (multidisciplinary approach, good team dynamic) among team members.
- Ensures the sustainability of their work and puts in place a system for archiving their work for the purposes of institutional memory.
Selection requirements and experience
- University degree in social sciences, law, political sciences, international relations, education in humanitarian studies or a relevant field or in other related fields;
- 3 - 5 years of overall professional experience in the field of social/political/economic science or similar or in other international organizations;
- Fluent command of spoken and written English, Tajik and Russian;
- Very good computer literacy;
- Capacity to adhere to and to implement procedures;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Good negotiation skills;
- Humanitarian experience an asset.
