Good Neighbors International in Tajikistan (GNIT) has been working in Tajikistan since 1998. The objective of GNIT is to improve the lives of people, especially children through education, community as well as emergency relief projects. GNIT is working with the key stakeholders such as Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Labor and migration, Committee of Women Affairs, Local authorities, INGOs UN and donor agencies such as, EU, GIZ, UNICEF, WFP, and others in an integrated approach to connect poor and vulnerable communities to quality education, health, water and sanitation services.
Good Neighbors International in Tajikistan is currently looking for an experienced Education Assistant for Community Development Project in Shahritus/Nosiri Khusrav
This work must ensure donor expectations are met and projects are successfully implemented.
- Main responsibilities:
- Support Education Officer in planning all education activities in line with GNIT and GNI strategies;
- Coordinate implementation all education sector related activities in accordance to approved work plan at the filed level;
- Plans, develops, and designs educational and training programs on Education sectors, including preparation; facilitation, and follow-up;
- Participate in field based need assessment and situation analysis;
- Conduct and facilitate trainings and other events for the children at school and community levels;
- Participate and contribute in reviewing program and conducting surveys;
- Document activities, recording information such as the numbers of applications completed, presentations conducted, and persons assisted;
- Submit project progress reports to Education officers;
- Support and train staff, interns, volunteers performing related work. May participate in the recruitment of volunteers, as appropriate to the area of operation;
- Collaborate with local District Education Departments and community initiative members to determine community health and children’s education needs;
- Liaise with other agencies who implement activities related to the Education at rayon, sub-rayon and community levels;
- Maintain databases, mailing lists, telephone networks, and other information;
- Program monitoring and delivery of results:
- Participate in monitoring and evaluation exercises, program reviews and annual sectorial reviews;
- Liaise with M&E assistant in monitoring of work done;
- Document best practice and lessons learnt, share it with the Education Officer;
- Ensure that all indicators and benchmarks are met;
- Assist in development of the GNIT Education activities outcomes and outputs results, related indicators, baselines, targets and means of verification;
- Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems;
- Prepare narrative activity reports in accordance proposed GNIT reporting requirements and in timely manner.
- Qualification and required:
- University Degree;
- Good in written and spoken in Tajik and Uzbek, English is preferred.
- At least 1-3 years of experience on working in development context with international INGOs or UN agencies;
- Ability to establish robust relationships with the beneficiaries and local education authorities;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Ability to work under pressure and difficult circumstances;
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills;
- Good training & facilitation skills;
- Ability to work with the minimum supervision.
