REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

COMMUNITY BASED AGRICULTURE SUPPORT PROGRAMME “PLUS” (CASP+)

TRANSLATOR 

The Republic of Tajikistan has received a Grant No.2000004127, Loan No.2000004129 and additional Grant No.2000004127 from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) to implement the Community-based Agricultural Support Project 'plus' (CASP+).

The overall goal of the project is to contribute to the country’s shift towards low emission sustainable development pathways and climate-adaptive agricultural production practices. CASP+ development objective is to increase resilience of ecosystems and adaptation of livelihoods in rural areas affected by climate change. The project will achieve the objective by strengthening public sector capacity for transformative climate-resilient governance of natural resources, improving community planning and access to investment resources for ecosystem management and climate adaptation, supporting through market-based approaches the diversification of livelihoods as element of climate resilience.

Tasks and Scope of Services 

The details of the specific assignments/tasks of the English Translator will be as follows:

• Written translation of all necessary documents/reports from English into Tajik and/or Russian and from Tajik and/or Russian into English;
• Timely and qualified translation of all documentations related to Project activities, especially bidding and procurement materials; 
• Oral interpretation of meetings, negotiations, sessions, as well as translation of workshop’s material and etc;
• On necessity to take field trip to translate at meetings and so on; 
• Sending and registration of documentations in the log book;
• Systematization of incoming and outgoing electronic correspondences;
• Preparation and maintaining of the minutes of the meetings in English and Tajik and/or Russian;
• Correct, complete and accurate translation of the project documents in spite of their complexity;
• Any other assignments by the CEP CIIP Project Coordinator;   

4. Qualifications and Experience

The Specialist must have the following qualifications:

• University degree in English language, foreign languages or related fields;
• At least 3 years of work experience in translation of official documentation; 
• Experience in rural development projects implemented by GoRT or NGOs, or with development agencies is an advantage;
• Knowledge of legal and regulatory terminology and local documentation in the field of agriculture;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, Russian and Tajik;
• Computer skills (MS office, MS Word, MS Excel, Power point, Internet E-mail etc.) is required.

Specialist will be selected according to the procedures set out in IFAD’s Procurement Manual (September 2010 edition).
