- INTRODUCTION
The Government of Tajikistan has appealed to the World Bank to support its efforts to address the sector’s challenges and is currently preparing a rural water supply and sanitation project. The Project Development Objectives (PDO) are to assist the Government of Tajikistan to: ( i ) strengthen the capacity of institutions in the water supply and sanitation sector; and ( ii ) improve access to water supply and sanitation services in selected districts. The preliminary project area locations are: ( i ) the Vakhsh group inter-district water supply system, covering six districts of South Khatlon (Bokhtar, Vakhsh, Balkhi, Sarband, Dusti, Jayhun); and the Vose district water supply system, located in the southern part of the Khatlon region of Tajikistan.
The project will be implemented by the SUE “KMK” and the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources (Implementing agencies) through the existing Project Management Unit for Municipal (communal) Infrastructure Development Projects.
- OBJECTIVE
The Procurement Specialist will support the Implementing Agencies in carrying out procurement activities in accordance with the World Bank Procurement Rules (July 2016, revised November 2017 and August 2018).
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Higher education in economics, engineering, business management or law;
- At least 5 years of professional experience in procurement in accordance with World Bank guidelines;
- Completed training on international procurement procedures, including World Bank procedures, for goods, works and selection of consultants;
- Experience in infrastructure development projects for at least 3 years.
- Good knowledge of the Public Procurement Law;
- Advanced computer skills;
- Fluent in Tajik, Russian and English.
