JOB PURPOSE: To ensure efficient, high-quality design and construction of water supply and sanitation facilities, the Project Development Programme is seeking an experienced Water Supply and Sanitation (WSS) Engineer who will be responsible for the quality design and supervision of construction of infrastructure projects such as water supply systems, public toilets, domestic toilets, etc. in the target project areas. The WSS Engineer will support the Senior and Field Engineers on site throughout the construction phase, including pre-construction, design, tender, construction, and delivery stages, and ensure the sustainability of infrastructure projects. She/he will ensure that all locally relevant design and construction codes and standards, as well as local and international best practices, are considered in the design and construction of water supply and sanitation facilities. The WSS Engineer will report to the Water Supply and Sanitation Technical Expert at the Project Development Programme Central Office in Dushanbe. The Water Supply and Sewage Engineer will be based in Dushanbe with frequent travel to the project target areas. The assignment duration is 12 months with the possibility of extension.
