Position Title: Communications Specialist
Location: Dushanbe, Tajikistan
Reports To: Project Manager
Job Summary:
The Communications Specialist will be responsible for developing, managing, and implementing strategic communication plans to raise awareness of the project’s objectives and outcomes. This includes managing media relations, creating content, and organizing events and campaigns to ensure that the project's activities and achievements are effectively communicated to a broad audience, including stakeholders, government officials, and the general public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement communication strategies aligned with project goals.
- Create and manage content for newsletters, social media, press releases, brochures, and websites.
- Collaborate with the Outreach and Communications Team to develop and disseminate educational and outreach materials related to climate change adaptation, WASH services, and other project themes.
- Ensure materials are culturally appropriate and accessible to diverse audiences.
- Coordinate media engagement, including drafting press releases, liaising with journalists, and organizing press conferences or media events.
- Monitor media coverage and provide reports on communications effectiveness.
- Organize and execute events, such as campaigns, workshops, and panel discussions, ensuring diverse stakeholder participation.
- Support the development of multimedia content (videos, photos, infographics) to enhance visibility and impact.
- Ensure communications efforts promote inclusivity and gender equality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in communications, preferably in the development sector.
- Proven experience in media relations and content creation (social media, web content, and publications).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Tajik, and Russian.
- Familiarity with climate change, WASH, or international development topics is a plus.
