Medecins sans Frontieres (MSF) is an independent medical international humanitarian association that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, healthcare exclusion and natural or manmade disasters. MSF is working in Tajikistan in the field of Tuberculosis. Our projects focus on providing treatment and support for children suffering from MDR Tuberculosis (TB) and their families based in Dushanbe and Zero TB Project based in Kulob.
MSF is currently looking for a qualified, capable, flexible and motivated person for the position of Nurse for its Zero TB Project based in Kulob. Main Purpose of the job:
Provide nursing care and follow-up of patients, according to doctors’ prescriptions, protocols applied in service and universal hygiene standards/precautions, in order to ensure the quality and continuity of care for the targeted population. |

Job Description |
Technical support and supervision:
- Together with the MSF medical team and MoH partners, develop and implement efficient system of care provision for outpatient, home based and hospitalized patients.
- Together with Nurse Activity Manager, provide close supervision and support of MoH nurses in their routine activities of care distribution.
- To supervise and coach MoH staff in daily patient clinical monitoring, including identification and reporting of side effect signs and symptoms.
- To ensure that the TB facilities in each rayon for which we are working have adequate medical and TB drug supplies.
- Monitoring of nursing adherence to TB guideline and infection control policies during outreach trips to ambulatory polyclinics, TB dispensaries and Hospitals.
- Participate in improving patients’ adherence to infection control policy by visiting their homes.
- Supervision and follow-up of nursing procedures and documentation as per clinical protocols.
- To support the Logframe activities of the project including contact tracing and sputum induction activities
- Work in close collaboration with MSF counsellors to enhance patient education, motivation and adherence.
- Participate in project meetings.
- In collaboration with MDs and health promotion team, participates in day to day avtivities of Active Case Finding (ACF) and ensure follow up of people referred from ACF for screening in KCTBC.
- Participate in contact tracing activities and ensure contact-tracing data available on medical drive.
- In collaboration with NTP nurses and MSF MDs, regularly conduct home visits in poly – clinics and DOT corners within MSF catchment areas.
- Regularly participate in monthly medical inventory/consumption in RTBH and KCTBC and ensuring appropriate medical order.
Training:
- To collaborate with Nurse Activity Manager and training coordinator on assessing and identifying training needs for nurses.
- Teaching of nursing procedures and documentation as per TB guidelines.
- Teaching, supervising and reinforcement of occupational safety, injection techniques and health education to staff, patients and their families.
- Assist in provision of continuing education/training/lectures for clinical management of TB to MoH personnel, as well as on-the-spot trainings as required.
- Assist in provision of continuing education for the patients and their families.
Management & Communication
- Management of patient care, daily activities and responsibilities in coordination with Nurse Activity Manager.
- Practice ethical standards in everyday work.
- Regularly communicate and provide monthly reports to the Nurse Activity Manager.

Salary: Starting Gross salary is 5158 TJS.
