Aga Khan Health Services: With community health programmes in large geographical areas in Central and South Asia, as well as East Africa, and more than 200 health facilities including nine hospitals, the Aga Khan Health Services (AKHS) is one of the most comprehensive private not-for-profit health care systems in the developing world. AKHS provides primary health care and curative medical care in Afghanistan, India, Kenya, Pakistan, and Tanzania, and provides technical assistance to government in health service delivery in Kenya, Syria and Tajikistan.
The Aga Khan Health Services in Tajikistan is seeking an exceptional individual to fill the position of Training Officer based in Khorog. Under the supervision of the Programme Manager, Foundations for Health and Empowerment, the incumbent is expected to fulfill the following resposiblities:
- Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, and provide training programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops.
- Arrange ToT training to train Master trainers and supervisors in techniques and skills for training and dealing with employees.
- Facilitate training and arrange training at PHC level with agreement of DoH in GBAO following the approved capacity building plan under Foundation for Health Program
- Deliver English enrichment program for successful scholarship applicants prior to attending pre-service and in-service training courses.
- Arrange and follow up the short-term and long- term courses and scholarship outside of Tajikistan (AKU, Pakistan, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan and other Russian speaking country)
- Arrange and follow up the trainings for allied health professional in specific skills, equipment and techniques for care and treatment of women of reproductive age and adolescents.
- Build capacity of midwives, nurses, and other relevant stakeholders for promotion on MNCH (ANC, PNC, essential new-born care and care of small baby), breast and cervical cancers, nutrition, gender equality and gender based violence, menstrual hygiene, FP, delivery and mental health.
- Conduct monitoring and evaluation of the participants who attended trainings.
- Analyse training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs.
- Review and evaluate training to ensure compliance with government standards
- Supervise instructors, evaluate instructor performance and the effectiveness of training programs, provide recommendations for improvement
- Prepare training budgets and follow up on regular basis the expenses and provide justification for under or overspend
- Monitor, evaluate and record training activities and program impact
- Provide the Programme Manager with information required for periodic reporting on training
- Coordinate with other relevant staff of the F4HE project to ensure collaboration in activities
- Perform any other additional assignment as requested by the Line Manager
- SPECIFICATIONS (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS):
Education: Degree from a University in Medicine
Experience: Experience of work as a Training Coordinator is strongly required
Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with industry best practices and standards
- Ability to translate complex problems and concepts in training
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Computer skills in Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Publisher
- Language skills: Advanced writing skills in Russian, Tajik and English languages
Personal Characteristics:
- Self-motivation and ability to work without supervision
