Job Purpose: MSDSP, as the project’s implementing organization, will carry out sub-projects in agriculture, forest and pasture management, irrigation, and drinking water and sanitation infrastructure. One of the focus areas of the project is sustainable and equal access to safe drinking water and sanitation services. The sanitation sector in Zarafshan Valley faces various challenges in ensuring access to safe and sustainable sanitation services, including limited access to improved sanitation facilities, low awareness of hygienic practices and low demand for sanitation products and services. Poor sanitation contributes to water contamination, especially ground water, disease prevalence, and decreased quality of life in rural communities. To enhance the demand for improved sanitation products and services, MSDSP seeks for technical support of a consultant who can conduct a thorough market

analysis to understand the current sanitation landscape and develop a comprehensive Sanitation Marketing Strategy adapted to the context of Zarafshon valley.

The Consultant shall also be required to analyze the existing MSDSP sanitation program and interventions and consider in the Sanitation Marketing Strategy development and provide specific recommendations in terms of products, services and technologies to improve the sanitation condition at household level in Zarafshan Valley. The Sanitation Marketing Strategy should contribute to enhancing demand for sanitation services and products, improving the market supply chain, and fostering behavior change among target communities
