GIZExpert for Digitalization
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is an international enterprise for cooperation and sustainable development, owned by the German Federal Government and active in 120 countries worldwide. On behalf of German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, GIZ has been working in Tajikistan since 1995.
This Multi Donor Action is jointly funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The Action is part of the EU Health Development Programme (EU HDP) in Tajikistan and is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
The specific objective of this component is to improve the quality of and access to integrated primary health care (PHC) services. The Component will strengthen the PHC system and lead to an improved quality of service delivery in 28 selected districts as well as improved access to PHC services for local communities by strengthening the organisational efficiency in PHC Centers, by improving the competencies of family doctors, nurses and midwives and administrative professionals as well as by restoring trust in and acceptance of family medicine in local communities.
The project is inviting applicants for the following vacant position:
Expert for Digitalization
The contract duration is 11 months. The position is based in Dushanbe.
Responsibilities
Responsible for all activities related to IT solutions and Digitalization carried out under the project.
General tasks
Expert for Digitalization performs the following tasks:
- Coordination, networking and knowledge exchange with other donor organizations and institutions working on digital health in Tajikistan (such as WHO, World Bank, USAID, etc.) – within the DCC Health (especially Subgroup on Digital Health) and beyond
- Support, collaboration and harmonizing the approach in upgrading the current DHIS2 system of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan
- Cooperate with donor organizations, especially Abt Associates and USAID, on the establishment of a digital patients’ registry
- Identification and evaluation of digital health technology solutions (incl. their possible use in the local context)
- Providing guidance and advice to GIZ Tajikistan’s health project on the opportunities and the use of digital health technology solutions
- Assessment & evaluation of partners’ needs in digitalization
- Improving project partners’ and beneficiaries’ knowledge and skills on digital technologies and competencies
- Developing strategies for implementing suitable digital health technologies and programs
Requirements
- University degree in in computer science, business informatics, or similar;
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT solutions and Digitalization;
- Experience in the region/knowledge of the setting and needs of Tajikistan
- Minimum 1 year experience of cooperation with international organisations and Ministry of Health would be an asset;
- Excellent knowledge of Russian, Tajik and English in word and writing.
