Summary of Position:
The Office of Legal Affairs at UCA is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Legal Intern to join our team. This a 6-month program is designed to provide valuable hands-on experience in various legal matters within a dynamic educational environment. The Legal Intern will work closely with our legal team and gain exposure to a wide range of legal issues relevant to international organization. The position offers a modest stipend but provides a valuable opportunity for professional growth and development.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting legal research on diverse matters related to education law, contracts, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.
- Support the legal team in drafting and reviewing legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
- Participate in the preparation and organization of legal reports and presentations.
- Assist in maintaining and updating legal records, documentation, and databases.
- Attend meetings and conferences with the legal team to gain insights into the legal aspects of university operations.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather information and assist in legal projects.
- Assist in monitoring changes in legal regulations of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.
- Assist with translation of legal documents and support the legal team in handling other administrative tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Currently pursuing a degree/ a graduate in law or a related field from an accredited university.
- Familiarity with legal research tools, databases, and resources.
- Proficiency in English and in one of the languages: Russian, Kyrgyz, Tajik or Kazakh
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
