International Public Organization “Equitable Development”, or “Equidev” for short, is a new International Public Organization (IPO) founded by Oxfam in Tajikistan, and officially registered in the Republic of Tajikistan, in 2021. Headquartered in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, Equidev plans to have business operations across Central Asia. In the first phase, the company will focus on developing business opportunities in Tajikistan. Oxfam-Equidev will sell consulting and advisory services to the full range of aid organizations (bi-lateral, multi-lateral and private foundations), private companies, contractors and social entrepreneurs that are engaged in inclusive development and poverty reduction in the region. Subject: Implementation of the WASH in Schools Three Star Approach (WinS TSA) in 50 schools of the RRS and Khatlon region

Background

Equidev is an international public organization providing expert development solutions and technical support to advance sustainable development and equitable growth in Central Asia. We are a new, independent organization, originally founded by Oxfam Great Britain (Oxfam GB) —a leading global charity fighting inequality, poverty, and injustice. Equidev partners with bilateral and multilateral agencies, governments, not-for-profit organizations, social enterprises, and the private sector. It is registered as a non-profit international organization under Tajik legislation.

Equidev is seeking for short-period Data Collection staff for the EU-funded project “Implementation of the WASH in Schools Three Star Approach (WinS TSA)” (hereinafter referred to as the Project).

Summary of the project

Implementation of the WASH in Schools Three Star Approach (WinS TSA) is a one-year project started on January 1, 2024, and will run until December 31, 2024. The project is funded by the European Union and implemented by UNICEF and Equidev in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science of RT, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of RT, and Oxfam Consults. All project activities will be carried out in the following 14 cities and districts: Vahdat, Rudaki, Shahrinav, Tursun-Zade, Pyanj, Vakhsh, Bokhtar, Shakhritus, Jaihun, Kulyab, Jomi, Vose, Dusti and Farkhor.

Objective:

Under the guidance of the Project Coordinator and direct supervision of the MEAL Specialist, the Data Collection Staff will support a project to collect accurate and reliable data from respondents according to survey protocols/tools in target schools and communities in

14 target districts:

This may include:

Conducting interviews with respondents (teachers, school children, community members
Following standardized procedures for data collection to maintain consistency and reliability.
Recording responses accurately and completely.
Respecting participant confidentiality and privacy.
Addressing any questions or concerns raised by participants during data collection.
Collaborating with the research team to troubleshoot any issues that may arise during data collection.
Submitting collected data to the designated data management team or researcher in a timely manner.
Participating in training sessions or meetings related to the survey methodology, data collection tools, and ethical considerations.
Undertakes other duties as required.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in economy, statistics, and relevant sciences
Good communication skills
Experience in conducting KAP/Baseline surveys.
A minimum of 2 years of practical experience in the field of database

Competencies

Good typing skills and knowledge of touch-typing systems.
Working knowledge of office equipment
Experience working with Tablet Kobo toolbox data.
Basic understanding of databases
Good command of Tajik and Uzbek, knowledge of Russian preferable
Great attention to detail
